PFF, PFYM, and FGC Events
Friends associated with PFF/PYFM are encouraged to attend retreats and gatherings offered by PFF/PFYM, FGC, and other Quaker organizations. It is by associating with other Friends on a regional and national basis where we are in an atmosphere of learning and spiritual uplift that we grow in our insights, knowledge, and in our Quaker faith.
Two PFF Retreats Presented Annually
Piedmont Friends Fellowship sponsors and organizes two retreats per year.
In March of each year PFF organizes a weekend retreat in conjunction with the annual sessions of PFYM and the PFF Annual Meeting. The spring weekend retreat is family oriented with programs and activities planed for children, older youth, and adults. There is a theme for the weekend involving a speaker and interactive activities planned in the adult program. Presentations from regional Quaker programs are presented in the afternoons as are evening social activities. The annual sessions of the PFYM are held as is the annual meeting of PFF. In the fall of each year (in late October or early November) a one-day retreat is organized aimed at adults (although may have a concurrent children’s program and care for younger Friends) and is focused on a topical theme interesting to Friends usually with a featured speaker and will include discussion and sharing lunch together in fellowship. In addition PFF may organize separate activities and retreats for junior high and high school aged youth. .
